Malviya Nagar, a famous assembly seat in South Delhi. It is located in between Saket and Hauz Khas and close to IIT Delhi. It’s been recognized as Malviya Nagar after the noted freedom fighter Madan Mohan Malviya who was also an educator and founded Banaras Hindu University.

The Malviya Nagar was initially populated in the 1950s by refugees from Pakistan, after the Partition.] A large portion of the population is ethnic Rajasthani, U.P(West), Haryanvi, Punjabis, and Sindhis.

Now Malviya Nagar covers Geetanjali Enclave, Bhavishya Nidhi Enclave, Khirki Extension, Shivalik colony, and Sarvodaya Enclave. The nearest Metro of this area is Malviya Nagar.

Malviya Nagar is a constituency of the Delhi Assembly. Malviya Nagar is part of the New Delhi (Lok Sabha constituency) and the current Member of Parliament is Meenakshi Lekhi. Since 2013, the sitting Member of the Assembly has been Somnath Bharti of the Aam Aadmi Party. But you know, he is not doing any kind of work for the betterment for the people of Malviya Nagar constituency. 

The construction work hasn’t been completed till yet. When we complained to the authority, they said that AAP workers are influenced by Mr. Bharti and Arvind Kejriwal doesn’t want the development of this constituency. 

AAP govt. just fooled the people of this constituency. They are just branding themselves. No development has been done in last 5 years. (Shailender Singh Monty)

During my tenure as a councillor, I Shailender Singh Monty have done all the schools in my constituency reconstructed with modern amenities such as smart classes, online teaching modules.

At the beginning of the new session, I distributed bags to all the students of primary MCD schools. 

I had given my full support to the Construction of permanent ghats for Chhath puja and renouncing of several lanes based on religious sentiments.

I (Shailender Singh Monty) initiated largest LED light program SDMC between 2016-17 that was inaugurated by Hon’ble Power Minister Shri. Piyush Goyal Ji in SDA C block park.
